SHOP UPDATE

Happy Mid-week! I am slowly warming up the engine and getting it revved up for a New Year sale and bigger updates for the coming year! I'm getting excited thinking about all the new projects we will be working on and for our return to Ebay to clear out old merchandise from Etsy at killer starting auction prices! I love bringing you new vintage on a daily basis and hope that this addition will keep our little ol' store moving along. So this leads me to a question, do you like bidding on Ebay? Why or Why not? And which one do you shop more on for vintage clothing, Ebay or Etsy? Your feedback will be helpful, I do appreciate it!

The following are new items that just hit the shop, click on the picture for the details!

MOTHER DAUGHTER STYLE: DAY WEDDING

I love doing these post! It's been a while since we've done one And I've noticed some of my most popular post I no longer do, go figure! Reflecting, re-evaluating and goal writing for 2012 is my mission this week as the year ends and a new exciting year begins. It's been quite a journey this year, a few mistakes made along the way but what's even better is what I've learned from them, can I get an Amen! On the very top of the list though most importantly is how my faith and trust has strengthened in Christ, on a more personal note.

Well, in today's Mother Daughter outfits Zoe and I were heading to a lovely out door wedding. For the 3rd time in 2 years Zoe wore a dress...yes! The difference this time is that she actually bought this one herself and it is all her.

It's a pretty pale pink lace number from H&M. I thought she would naturally gravitate to the black one but to my surprise she picked this one. I loved not only seeing her in a dress but that she experimented a little and chose a new color for her closet. The color looks great on her and matched perfectly her personal trade mark style, her black low top chucks.

I wore and borrowed a vintage 1970's dress from the Shop seen HERE. It was going to get a bit chilly so I opted for the maxi look so I could wear black tights under! I paired it with what Zoe named my gorilla coat, a faux fur coat I bought at a thrift from F21; and my Vince Camuto platform western clogs to give me that extra height. I like how maxi dresses look with platform shoes because I like the look of how it hangs. Also, if it weren't for these shoes Zoe would surpass me in height!

I actually did accessorize this outfit quite well but forgot to put on all my bling for the shots. It gave it more of that complete Ashbury Street Bohemian look.

Overall, it was a beautiful wedding and Zoe and I enjoyed the opportunity of dressing up!

on Zoe:
H&M lace pale pink dress
black Chuck Taylor low top Converse

on me:

P.S., I've been having fun looking up tutorials on a whole lot of everything on youtube, thanks Stephanie! I have found a few tutorials on making pictures look vintage, there will be a learning curve until I find the look that is just right. We are also going to make some video's ourselves and have signed up for our own youtube channel, another exciting addition for 2012!

SHOP UPDATE

Happy mid-week! I am finally starting to get rid of this cold! I've been sick 3 times within a 2 month time span, this one being one of the worst. It has made me re-evaluate how I need to take better care of my body and get this immune system strong. So I'm cutting down on sugar and eating allot more fruit and vegetables and of course the best medicine of all....sleep! One of my big sugar cut downs is coffee, YES coffee. Besides my body basically asking for it every morning, I sugar and cream my coffee up big time and tend to drink about 4 cups a day, no bueno. It's been a nice change of pace not having to reach for that cup to get me up and going.

Well, on to the SHOP update. I posted quite a few blazers up and am fancied with the velvet burgundy wine one in particular. Click on the pictures to get the details:

INSPIRED BY: IRIS APFEL

Bruce Weber photo

I am enamored by Mrs. Iris Apfel personal style. At age 90, she dissolves all style stereo-types on how an older women looks like and / or dress. I fancy her use of over-sized and layered costume jewelry and her keen eye in mixing prints; not to mention her use of color. I'm 34 and dream of having everything in her closet.

She is an interior designer by trait but has now become a popular culture style icon, which has led into having museum exhibitions of her personal clothing, a book on her personal style and her own jewelry collection. I also read that a new glasses collection is in the works and would not mind getting my hands on her signature big round glasses. Her Rare Bird of Fashion book is already in my wish-list and I can't wait to purchase it!
