OUTFIT ON A BUDGET: 70's PSYCHEDELICS

Hello lovely blog readers. i have been trying to stay on top of running a tight ship this week. i am updating the shop this week with 25 new vintage pieces. Zoe has been doing a great job modeling for me these last few weeks. she has the best frame for showing off 70's pieces and 90's baby doll dresses. she's pretty easy to work with and i only see her getting better. i like that she got her start modeling with me, since she is seeking to do it professionally/fun.

This weeks outfit on a budget is a vintage 70's mini dress with a mandarin collar that was once a very long and big mumu!

I loved the print on it and hated to see it not go to good use. the fabric is a soft poly, not itching and stiff at all; so it was easy to convert it into a mini dress.

I cut about 20 inches of fabric off side note: d.i.y. of that extra fabric usage will be coming soon), at the time my serger was not working properly so i decided to fold and hem it with a zigzag stitch to give it a clean finish.

I paired it with dusty blue DKNY ribbed tights i found in the thrift store. just noticed in the picture how they are running down, oops. the swedish clogs are from MIA, and the grandma floral tapestry purse was a thrift find.

I would of posted a few close ups but they did not come out as good as i wanted them too.

the details are:

dress: vintage 70's mumu now new mini dress $1.99
tights: DKNY ribbed tights found new in thrift $1.99
shoes: MIA Swedish clogs bought on sale on endless.com $40.00
purse: vintage 70's grandma tapestry thrifted $1.00

grand total: $45

Zoe was looking mighty cute this day with her California laid back look. we had fun taking more pictures of each other.

xoxo,
